AMRITADI GUGGUL

Amritadi guggul, as the name denotes, is made up of two words, ‘Amrita’ & ‘Aadi’. ‘Amrita’ is another name for ‘Guduchi’, whose effect on Uric Acid metabolism has been scientifically proven. ‘Aadi’ refers to all other herbal ingredients that have been used. Amritadi Guggul is a well-known classical Ayurvedic medicine. It is used to treat gout, skin diseases, rheumatoid arthritis, fistula & decreased digestive power. It is also useful in the management of obesity.

Bones and Joints

It is very beneficial in problems related to bones and joints. Amritadi Guggul digest Ama (undigested food) and pacify the vitiated Vata (Air) that supports the healthy joints. It also helps to maintain healthy metabolism (digestion) by removing toxins from the body. It reduces swelling and stiffness by increasing agni. This medicine is mainly indicated in Vata Rakta. Vatarakta is termed as Vata vyadhi in Ayurveda and be compared as Gouty Arthritis. It is used in Rheumatoid Arthritis (ama vata) also. Ama decreases digestion power of body, which further causes toxins. It reduces ama (toxins) from the body. 

Gout and Uric Acid

As Amritadi Guggul has Uricosuric property (increases excretion of Uric acid through Urine), it improves excretion of uric acid and prevents uric acid accumulation on the joints. And thus helps in inhibiting formation of uric acid stones.

Haemorrhoids

It has mild laxative properties due to which it gives relief in constipation. Constipation is main cause of piles and indigestion. So it is used in bleeding and non-bleeding piles, fistula alongwith with Arogyavardhini Vati.

Digestion

It eliminates all the toxins and helps in improving digestion. It is used in loss of appetite, gastritis and non healing ulcers with Sutshekhar ras.

Skin

It is widely used in skin diseases. Due to its antibacterial and antimicrobial action, it reduces acne with pus, or pimples with redness and tender pain. This medicine purifies blood and removes toxins from body.

It is used in skin problems like leprosy, eczema. It decreases itching and redness caused by eczema.

Wound Healing

It acts very well for healing of wounds. It helps in healing wounds that are due to pus and reduces pus formation. It reduces the symptoms caused by wounds like itching, swelling, pain.  It can be taken with Triphala guggul for rapid healing like in anal fistula. 

Obesity

Its ingredients have potent anti-obesity action, so it is used for weight loss management. It reduces toxins, helps in improving metabolism. It can be taken with Dashmoola aristha.

Fever

It is widely used in all types of fever. It is mainly used in chikangunya. It can be taken with Sudarshan Vati, Godanti Bhasam.

Liver Problems

Amritadi Guugul also works on liver. It helps improve liver functions.
